When young, I have read the Diary of Anne Frank.
Some decades passed, so I don't remember the story clearly but I still remember the feelings when I read that book.
I felt terribly sad and sorry for Anne Frank thinking of why Jewish people suffered the miserableness.
I still think that in the world, there must not be the similar affair to the holocaust which was unbelievably cruel.
Do you know what day it is on 27th Jan?
It is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
For some of you, this word might be unfamiliar.
During World War Two, Millions of Jews were killed because of who they were by Germany's Nazi party. This is what The Holocaust is.
This is one of the most tragic histories.
27th Jan, 1945, The Russia's Red Army released people from the Auschwitz concentration camp.
That's why 27th Jan was declared International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Most of you already know well that during World War Two, numerous Jewish people were slaughtered in various ways such as electrical torture, gas poisoning and starvation.
Thinking of that historical tragedy reading this writing, I feel so sorry and terribly sad.
Here, there was no mercy, love, peace and human rights.
I think people's interest and mind for peace is necessary and important not to repeat the same tragedy again not to mention specific and realistic law.
As our societies develop, I hope our mind and way of thinking for peace and human rights will be much more mature, making our world better.
I want to end my today's writing attaching Michael Jackson's Heal The World.
Thank you for sharing your heart-moving article. I truly believe that if we destroy weapons, there will be little left for man to hurt one another with & for history to repeat itself. This is why HWPL's DPCW is so important as it ensures the destruction of all armaments. May it be enacted quickly at the UN!
